Ah, Spring. Busy, busy time of year. Once graduation hits in May and campus becomes a ghost town, I will have a life again. Until then I am just trying to keep my head above water.
Last night I attended a workshop on how to fix a bike flat. Let's just say that if I ever get a flat in a race I am SCREWED. Getting the tire off is a BITCH! Seriously. My mitts aren't strong enough, but after lots of swear words I got that bastard off. Bill from Advance Cyclery was a fantastic teacher. He had us take our tube out and hand it to him so he can put a hole in it!!!!!!! The look on our faces was priceless. He showed us how to find the hole and patch it in a few different ways. He gave us a brand new tube and showed us how to put the tire back together. Which brought on a whole other round of cursing.
Today I ran the Shamrock 4 mile race around Tipp Hill. LOVE this race. 3200 of your closest craziest friends that wear every Irish thing they could get their hands on. Music along the course and Irish dancers. It is a race I like to do for a good time, not to crush a time or race. Too much bobbing and weaving for me. It was nice to just go out and enjoy the race because I didn't care about time. Afterwards, a few friends and I hit a local pub, had a few beers.
Weirdness for this week was reading about a V Steam. WTF? Really?! Really. I can honestly say this is something I will never do. And I am okay with it.
