Two places that you know you aren't getting out of there for under a $100 bucks:

The Vet
A Mechanic

Today it was the mechanic. For a couple months my van's brakes were getting worse, and worse and worse -- squealing, screeching, and shaking as you stepped on the brakes. Not good. It got to the point that I was making it a ritual to make the sign of the cross and say a prayer before getting in the van to go to work.

Not anymore! Two new tires and a whole new back break system, alignment and oil change it is running like a dream. Granted an expensive dream. I am seriously considering sending the bill to the city of Syracuse.

So true! What happened to the $30 vet visit or $90 brake job?

I try to look at my greyhound as a hobby to justify the expenses. So much better than a boat, rv, or any other lame hobby, right?

The car is harder to justify, other than it's a necessity. :)

don't scare me like that! i saw vet and got worried.

cars. hate them. we're lucky to live between the train station and a bus stop. and manboy's car is the company's car. we're spoiled. i'd like to not need a car, but how do you get a dog to the vet? those are tricky situations.

so what is the cheap service now? nothing is left.
